Health and wellness is one of my great passions. My personal fitness journey has navigated me through many bumpy roads in life.
I hope to teach my clients that every journey is not easy. You do not have to do it alone.
The most important thing is realizing that you must start somewhere in order to grow and progress. Whether it’s yoga, a soul searching journey, or finding mobility as a mature adult… Don’t make excuses to not practice self-care. Yoga - Fearlessness
One of my closest friends from high school gifted me a necklace with the Sanskrit word Abhaya, which means Fearlessness. I mention this here because I have always been an athletic person who wasn’t afraid to try new things or tackle something alone.
The one fear that I did have was inversions (poses where the heart is higher from the ground than the head)! I finally conquered that fear after I took my yoga teacher training. It is just a small testament to how powerful the mind really is.
If you’re new to yoga, don’t be afraid of it. Many people think that they have to be flexible in order to practice, but that is a misconception.
People with stiff and tight muscles NEED yoga in their lives! Yoga is truly for everyBODY and is meant to be a journey to zen- a means to find calmness in the hustle and bustle of the world.
The beauty of a yoga practice is that it can be modified to suit your needs. And FYI - it’s not just about the asana practice either! There is a philosophical side too!
Senior Fitness - Vigor
My father lost his life at age 65. He was overall pretty healthy but had some unfortunate bad habits.
This is what prompted me to train for certification in senior fitness.
As we age, everything changes. The elasticity of our skin, the ligaments and bones in our body, and sometimes even brain functions.
In order to be ahead of the curve, physical fitness needs to become an everyday essential.
