I never thought there could be such a thing, but it’s true. Seasons of Motherhood do indeed exist and I wonder which one you are currently in.
What are the seasons you may ask? I define them as:
Spring – You’re amazed at how much the kids have grown. You’re excited about everything and are ready to hit the ground running. You live for the milestones.
Summer – Lots of hot flashes. The kids are busy bodies and won’t give you a break. There are times where you don’t know what you’re doing or how you’ll manage to navigate through your weeks, even your days.
Fall – The leaves of change. You feel like a burden has been lifted off your shoulders. Being a mom isn’t as bad as you thought.
Winter – It’s cold and you feel complacent, confused and heavy. Where did the time go? How have I reached this point where I am just OK with being a mom.
The summer season has officially begun; however, I’m feeling more of a mix between Summer and Fall. It’s been super difficult managing to carve out a little bit of time to write, stay afloat on social media, care for the kiddos and the household. I find solace in knowing that I am not alone and my outlet is exercise. Time is fleeting and soon enough, Tim and I will have an empty nest.
I urge every mother who feels like they can’t go on to seek help- whether it be calling a friend or finding a social group to confide in. Motherhood can be a bitch, but I say… Make it YOUR bitch and enjoy it.
